About Nur Musfirah

Nur Musfirah (b. 1997) is a Singaporean visual artist with a passion for drawing. Originally pursuing an education in Business in Retail Services, Musfirah instead chose to follow her heart in chasing her dreams in the field of the arts. Her interest lies within the sphere of videography and painting, where she draws inspiration from the intricacies of humanistic emotions and personal life experiences to conjure up soulful compositions and narratives in her work, best shown in her most recent work titled "Bullying".

ARTIST STATEMENT

Musfirah inspiration from her mother who drew the old Kampung Geylang with crayon. When she was 7, she started drawing about culture in Singapore. When she entered tertiary education at LASALLE College of the Art, she was exposed to various methods of drawing, painting, and videography. She interest lays in researching colors that bring happiness, spark feelings of calmness as well as sadness. There are many different types of colors but she more focused color that really matches. In her real life, she likes to surf and that's is why she make her artwork of the southeast Asian in Thailand about the tsunami.
